SUN team member Lindsay Elizabeth Doran will be presenting her article entitled, “Policy, Propaganda, and Paternalism: Use of Colonial Rhetoric Within Mount Pleasant Indian Industrial Boarding School Publications, 1910 – 1933” as part of the “Reading Settler Colonial Claims on Power and Place through Migrant-Settler Texts” panel on Friday, 5 April 2024.

Additional panelists include Lotta Leiwo (University of Helsinki, Finland), who will be speaking on “Politicized Nature: Local Letter Writers Reproducing Settler Colonial Worldview in Socialist Newspaper Toveritar,” and Samira Saramo (Migration Institute of Finland), presenting “Neighbors and Empty Lands: A Settler-Colonial Analysis of Finnish Migrant-Settler Life Writing.”
